Security RFP Walk Through July 7, 2012
a. House leadership has identified the need for assessing our internal security presence and establishing policies, parameters, and exercises aimed at enhancing security within House facilities.

b. The RFP seeks to contract for an assessment of strategic and material strengths and weaknesses, along with the development of a security enhancement planning initiative as outlined in greater detail in the RFP.
All information contained herein received as a result of this meeting or any part of the process is confidential and subject to non- disclosure under RSMO Chapter 610 security exception.
1. Capitol Police has jurisdiction of public spaces and is the Law Enforcement presence in the Capitol Building 2. The Capitol is an open, porous facility that is accessible to the general public; limits on House jurisdiction do exist.
3. During session, the House maintains a Sergeant-At-Arms and doorkeepers. a. Their role... b. State law allows properly-licensed Member and Staff of the General Assembly to carry concealed weapons in areas within the Capitol building. 4. Predominant focuses of existing activity. a. Awareness of suspicious activity, items or issues. b. Reporting to Capitol Police
a. Enhanced on-going threat assessment by designated staff. b. Development of appropriate plans and procedures for various threat scenarios. i.Active shooter/random violence ii.Potential terrorism threat c. Establishment of specific security protocols and procedures for Members and staff in various scenarios. d. Needs assessment /recommendations for enhancing security and meeting stated goals. e. Institution of security and safety best practices necessary for preventing and mitigating threats.
