OR GOT TO GET THE FORK OUT OF DODGE TO SPEND SOME WELL DESERVED TIME WITH SOME OLD FRIENDS HEADING INLAND IS QUITE A TRANSITION ~ GOING FROM 60 & FOGGY TO 100 & SMOKEY IN LESS THAN AN HOUR - WHEW! INLAND TRIP
So what we are going to do here is show my trip inland to attend my friends house warming party. Last winter my friend Pablo lost his house to fire. But from the ashes rises anew. Ironic that the air is filled with smoke from all the areas forest fires. On the day of the party and just after sunset we were rewarded with a spectacular thermal lightning show gliding north over the coastal range then later the full moon made an appearance. There are no pictures of the actual party. So I head inland 3:30 Fri afternoon……
Hwy 199 (Redwood Hwy) coming down Hayes Hill Out of the Illinois Valley (thick with smoke), Heading down into the Applegate/Rogue Valleys. Looking East the mountains disappear into the smoke.
Same highway, in the valley heading into Grants Pass - this is looking north - distant center in Walker Mt, just left of center distant is Mt Sexton.
Just finished lunch, its 106 degrees my brain is melting ……………..!! Now SHES Hot
I arrive at Pablos Phoenix Hey old man, wheres Pablo? Oh, its you, Whoops!! HA! Gotcha back - couldnt wait till three - teach you to mess with a senior. (Private Joke) This is the main entry from the driveway.
We continue around the house counter clockwise and see the deck off the master Bdrm - lower lever entry into laundry.

Well thats it for the house and property tour. Before the party Sat I headed over to what was my moms property that my niece now owns. Her daughter now resides on the property in a double wide. I had built a cabin at the top of the hill and resided in it for several years before going on the road. Sad to see some changes but thats the way it goes.
Part of the old house still remains as storage.
Holly (great niece) with her Brian
Double wide with add on.
One of the old chicken coups now storage.
Pump house and orchard.
Used to be the garden and green house. Thats all, gotta go.
Sunday morn heading back to the coast. This is going south on Hwy 199 outside of Cave Junction coming upon Rough And Ready Botanical area. The smoke is so thick - visibility was 1/2 mile.
Well that was my weekend get-a-way. Got back about 1:30pm and picked up Robin and went down to the Port to catch the art show on the board walk. While there we ran into the daughter and grandchild and a few friends. None of the following artwork is mine.
Grandma and Cayden
Grandma, Cayden & Brie.
Chris and his girl friend waiting to unload a fishing boat coming in.
This asshole didnt like me taking a picture. He screamed, its copyrighted! May be I says but its displayed in a public forum and is subject to photography. He says, if you like it why dont you buy it? I says, I didnt say I liked it only that it was different from the rest of his work.
Somebody needs to tell these goonie tourist that if you really want to catch some fish that they need to go about 100 yards further south.
