Programme MORE THAN participants designers MORE THAN sites across Łódź MORE THAN 250 partners More than 200,000 people from all over the world visited the previous seven editions of the Łódź Design Festival. 58% of these people are active in the design industry or intend to develop their professional careers in this area. With our diverse programme, we reach a wide group of audience, year by year. ŁDF attracts children and adults, professionals and amateurs. The projects and products gathered each year during the Festival are the starting point for a debate on the latest trends and reflection on the essence of design, directions of its development and its effect on peoples lives. Under the supervision of curators, these items became parts of a large whole with a common theme; they explore it and complement each other. It gives them enormous strength and arranges them into a subjective story about the theme of the current edition of the Łódź Design Festival. items MORE THAN

Today, like never before, design is steeped in humanity and egalitarianism-oriented. Design shifts from premium aesthetic concepts and ceases to be associated with luxury and snobbism. It opens to people and their problems. Designers more frequently use their skills to develop solutions for families and young people in chronic crisis. They re-design the penitentiary system, study the issue of ageing population, make people aware of human impact on the environment and offer solutions of reducing it. This is how design has shifted from a function-driven form to design as a problem-solving tool. Małgorzata Żmijska, Programme Director, Łódź Design Festival Its all about humanity the theme of the 7 th edition
