2. LET’S LEARN ABOUT INGRESSUS CONTROLLER
Ingressus is a serial main controller series produced by FingerTec.
With Ingressus installation, intelligent (master readers) or basic (slave) readers that are connected to the doors do not make access decision. They forward all requests to the Ingressus for access decisions.
In case where there is no connection to the Ingressus, intelligent readers will use their internal database to make access decisions and record events while basic readers (slave) that have no database, cannot function without Ingressus.

3. ADVANTAGES OF INSTALLING INGRESSUS
Reduces workload on the host PC - This is significant as the PC only needs to communicate with a few of them instead of handling heavy load of master readers.
High reliability and security – The access decision is controlled by the controller which is usually installed away and not visible to the user. The communication line is also dedicated to access purpose and is not shared with any other systems.
Overall cost of system implementation is lower - The system would be able to deploy inexpensive slave products at at least 25% less cost than using masters and get the same results altogether. Choose either Ingressus I or II and connect with inexpensive slaves for economical effective implementation.

4. GETTING TO KNOW: INGRESSUS I & II
Ingressus series offers two type of centralized door access control systems, Ingressus I and Ingressus II:
Ingressus I supports up to 2 sets of door locks for one door installation, and
Ingressus II supports up to 4 door locks for two doors installation.
Ingressus is linked to slave readers via serial cable S485 or Wiegand readers for access decisions.
Verification via Ingressus using slaves – how does it work?
When a fingerprint template/card ID is captured at the slaves, the information and data is sent and stored in Ingressus. The result of the verification will be sent to the slave terminals for door activity (close/open).

14. YOU QUESTION, WE ANSWER! Can slave terminals support any software?
No, all transactions are stored the Ingressus and all data from the Ingressus will be analysed using the bundled application, Ingress.
How many slaves can be paired with one master?
We offer two types of Ingressus, I & II. For Ingressus I, you can install a max of 2 slaves and Ingressus II can take 4 slaves at a time. Plan your controller purchase based on your need and you can always add in the future.
Does Ingressus come with its own power supply?
No, you must supply an independent power source to Ingressus for security purposes because in case of power failure, doors will not be automatically unlocked.
If I have the Ingress software installed, do I still need TCMS V2 for attendance?
The Ingress software is perfectly equipped for all your time attendance needs, so there is no need for TCMS V2 if a client is focused on door access control as well.
