3 Preparing your advertisement This field must be completed as it is the title that will be used by the system in correspondence. Add the title of the role, for example: Teacher, Assistant Principal, Deputy Principal. 2 Position title is populated by the system with the position level name and school, eg Teacher – Test Public School. You are able to expand on the Requisition title to include the KLA/AOR of the position, examples; Head Teacher Mathematics – Test High School Teacher Librarian – Test Public School. Remember the full school name must remain at the end of the title being separated from the position title by a hyphen –. The auto-populated fields which cant be altered include: Details of the school Approved subjects Willing to teach subjects General Selection Criteria (where applicable) As Hiring Manager /Convener you need to check the accuracy of all information.

This will always say Teacher. 3 If you are nominating another teacher to be the convener, you need to change the details in these fields. You will also need to change these details further below in this section as per instructions on page 4 Now scroll down to Section 2: Administration

5 Preparing your advertisement Click on the calendar icon to see a large date pad. Select Wednesday in the following week or the week you would like to advertise the position. 5 NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITIES 21Oct13 Applications for advertised positions will close 14 days after the date of posting at 4.00PM EST.

6 NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITIES 21Oct13 Preparing your advertisement 4 If you have nominated another teacher to be the convener, you will need to change the details in the Hiring Manager field in addition to the Principal/Director field highlighted in Page 3. If you are nominating someone else to act on your behalf to document the selection process, you will need to add them as the Hiring Manager Assistant.

7 Preparing your advertisement In this section there are four fields to complete: Position Information Specific Selection Criteria Conditions (as necessary) Special Notes (as necessary) As Hiring Manager you need to enter this information or the *Hiring Manager Assistant can enter this information on your behalf. For positions where the General Selection Criteria applies, this will be auto populated by the system. Enter information about the school including: School name Student enrolment Relevant student background (do not use acronyms) and number or percentage Any relevant programs (do not use acronyms) Other school information. 6 NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITIES 21Oct13 *Please refer to page 4 for details on where you can enter details of the Hiring Manager Assistant. Just follow the instruction which will ensure external formatting is removed before pasting.

9 Preparing your advertisement 8 Note: General Selection Criteria is auto-populated for executive positions. NSW DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND COMMUNITIES 21Oct13 Enter appropriate information, noting that it must align with the Position Details in Section 1. Approval to teach … must reflect the Subjects – Approved codes in the Position Details section. Willingness to teach … must reflect the Subjects - Not Approved codes in the Position Details section. Other selection criteria relating to the curriculum needs of the school should also be included. If you do decide to complete a cut and paste operation from MS Word the system will provide you with a text box for the cut an paste process. 12 Preparing your advertisement At the end of the four fields in the Vacancy Information section you are required to add a contact name and phone number. 15 Preparing your advertisement If the school has a significant enrolment of students with a language background other than English (60%), the selection panel will include a representative from the local ethnic community. If the school has more than 20 Aboriginal students or 20% of enrolments, the selection panel will include an AECG representative. 16 Preparing your advertisement 15 At the bottom of this section you will need to complete further information about the panel members. Select your answer from the drop-down menus provided. 17 Preparing your advertisement When you are ready to submit the requisition to Staffing for approval, select Yes from the drop- down menu.
