Classification and diagnostic criteria for various systemic autoimmune diseases including mixed connective tissue disease (MCTD), primary antiphospholipid syndrome (APS), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), Sjögren syndrome, systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and systemic sclerosis (SSc) have been developed, updated and refined over time. Detailed information on the criteria can also be found in Supplementary information S1 (figure).
