5 Slide 5 Some Examples of how High Speed Broadband is helping Northern Ireland businesses to compete.... Tommy Leckey, Photographer, Killough Fibre has provided me with a faster, better service and the ability to send many files simultaneously has really helped me out. It has revolutionised my business and allowed me to utilise different software packages that I couldn't previously take advantage of due to poor download speeds - this isn't a problem anymore! We use superfast broadband for multiple purposes - free wifi for guests, the cash tills work on EPOS technology enabling data/pricing changes to be made quickly and the CCTV is carried over broadband for remote monitoring. It gives great peace of mind and enables us to deliver better service to our customers. We have even seen an increase in website enquiries from all over the world. Olga Walls, Derg Arms, Castlederg Having fibre broadband means significant savings for us. We really need the speed for rich media, such as hosting Video calls with colleagues in GB. We also use the fibre broadband as resilience for our cloud applications. I only wish wed had this capability years ago... Brian Law, FP McCann, Maghera

6 Slide 6 Some more examples.... Geoffrey Simpson - Viewback Antiques and Auctions, Omagh Im half way up a mountain but even so I am getting a much better speed since I installed fibre broadband. It has allowed me to create a live internet bidding service, so that when we hold auctions we have people from all over the UK, the US, Australia and even China taking part. Our website averages 150,000 hits a day recently, so we have to have the bandwidth to handle that demand. Fibre broadband has made a significant difference to my business. Yes, speed is the obvious benefit, it cannot be underestimated, we are based in a rural location and faster broadband has increased the efficiency of my business when buying, selling and invoicing all over Europe We will never return to standard broadband. Our traditional draper / gift shop business, operating since 1935, has grown since we launched our giftwareireland.com website. I got fibre broadband last year and couldnt contemplate going back to lower speeds. Our sites are now open 24 hours and available worldwide – I even get orders on Christmas Day. We ship Titanic mugs to Belgium and turf crosses to Korea – all from the office in the shop. Terry Kelly - Container Sales NI, Sixmilecross, Tyrone R&J Hillis - giftwareireland.com, Portrush
