3 B IG B ROTHERS /B IG S ISTERS Mission Big Brothers Big Sisters is a donor-supported volunteer youth mentoring organization, which has been placing caring adults in the lives of children in one-to-one mentoring relationships since 1927. Through the positive impact of those friendships, children with a Big Brother or Big Sister are more likely to graduate from high school and are less likely to begin using drugs, begin using alcohol or engage in negative conflict. Volunteer Opportunities We currently have 85 Little Brothers and Sisters in Waco waiting for their Big today. By utilizing volunteers skills and experiences, RSVP creates a strong force of citizens capable of helping non-profits sustain themselves and serve the community effectively. Heart of Texas RSVP links volunteers with non-profit organizations in McLennan, Hill, Freestone, Limestone, Falls, and Bosque counties. 7 H ILLCREST B APTIST M EDICAL C ENTER A UXILIARY Mission: The purpose of the Hillcrest Auxiliary is to enhance the mission of Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center: "To personally provide quality health care and services in a Christian environment" through volunteer commitment and support. 10 T ALITHA K OUM I NSTITUTE Mission The mission of Talitha Koum is to improve outcomes for at-risk children and their families from the Kate Ross government housing neighborhood of South Waco through an intensive care program. Beginning with a mental health therapeutic nursery for birth to six-year-olds and comprehensive support for each childs family, we will grow to support our children through high school graduation Volunteer Opportunities RISE Guild - Real Interest Supportive Energy For Talitha Koum to RISE, we need a host of committed devotees and friends ~ community members who come alongside – effectively. Whether that means you raise interest for Talitha Koum among your friends, answer TKIs phones for a couple of hours, repair a broken door, volunteer to prep a mailing, sterilize our toys, mow the lawn, request hand-me-downs for our parents Pick a Gift closet, recommend us for a speaking engagement, or offer a unique talent we cant even name ~ thats when Talitha Koum will RISE!
