The Eiffel tower began to be constructed January 28, 1887 and was opened March 31, 1889 The architect who built the Eiffel tower is Stephen Sauvestre.
The Eiffel tower was built for several reasons one reason is commemorating the 100 year anniversary of the French Revolution in Europe, Another reason the Eiffel Tower was built was for its promising nature of a scientific research for example with the Eiffel Towers great height it would be great for experiments in pressure, temperature and radio telegraphy. The Eiffel tower offers a great view of Paris, the higher you go up the Eiffel tower the better the view. There are many things to do at the Eiffel tower for example there is a restaurant on one of the floors of the tower, there is even a gift shop in the Eiffel tower, but the thing most people go to see at the Eiffel tower is the beautiful view of Paris.
The Eiffel tower was used by the military in the First World War. During the war, The French used the tower to lead their troops to the battlefield. The Eiffel Tower was almost dismantled and used for scrap metal 20 years after its construction. The French government decided to keep the building because the building could be used for communication during times of war and radio broadcast. In the years 1925-1934 Citroen automobile company used the four corners of the tower as a billboard. The picture above is a picture of the billboard on the Eiffel tower that says Citroën. The Eiffel tower was almost dismantled ant used for scrap metal, scrap metal is shown in the picture above. The picture above shows solders by the Eiffel tower, the Eiffel tower was used for the military during world war 1.
