3 Making Comparisons There are also several phrases used to make comparisons in Spanish.

4 Making Comparisons The following phrases can be used with adjectives to make comparisons más... que more... than menos... que less...than tan... como as... as

5 Making Comparisons El surfing es más interesante que el béisbol. Surfing is more interesting than baseball.

6 Making Comparisons El baloncesto es menos divertido que el fútbol. Basketball is less enjoyable than soccer.

7 Making Comparisons El tenis es tan aburrido como levantar pesas. Tennis is as boring as lifting weights.

8 Making Comparisons Please note that the adjective used must agree in gender and number with the noun that precedes it.

19 Making Comparisons Mejor (better) and peor (worse) are followed by que. Juego al beisbol mejor que él. I play baseball better than him. Sara juega al tenis peor que él. Sara plays tennis worse than him.
