5 Project Name: HMRC v1.8 | 12/02/2007 | 5 Customs Data Sources – The Bad Customs frameworks do not promote Trade Statistics requirements Customs primary focus is collecting duty and safeguarding the movement of restricted or dangerous goods The Customs declaration is a small part of a complex supply chain Paperwork can be inaccurate - is the person making the declaration the one with the best knowledge of the goods? More identifiers are needed for analysis to reflect Globalisation (e.g. Intra-firm, Processing & Repair)
