DO YOU, OR DOES SOMEONE YOU KNOW, USE PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS?
C.A.P. - Who We Are… Community Assistance Program ( CAP ) is an outreach program of National Benefit Builders Inc. It was set up to help those that are uninsured and under-insured. NBBI was established in 1994, with an A+ rating from the Better Business Bureau. CAP distributes free cards; Educates card users on how to use the cards; Helps people who do not have internet access compare drug prices; and Can assist people in finding pharmacies with the best prices for their prescription medications. We have saved cardholders over $350 million in drug costs. CAP never charges for any of these outreach services!
What is a Discount Drug Card? Prescription drug discount cards (also known as consumer cards and point of sale cards) allow prescription drug users to save money on all types of prescription medications. At the time of purchase, they simply present the card at any participating pharmacy to instantly receive substantial discounts on their prescription drugs. Its that easy.
Absolutely FREE ! No cost, No charge, No enrollment, No membership, No restrictions or qualifications. Anyone can use it. Pre-activated and can be used over and over again. Never expires. SAVE from 10 to 85% on brand and generics with an average discount of 15% on brands and 55% on generics … even on lifestyle medications not covered by Medicaid and Medicare (e.g. Smoking Cessation, Infertility, Weight Management, Hair Loss, Durable Medical Equipment, etc.) HIPPA compliant. No personal information on the card. Benefits: CAP Prescription Discount Card
Studies show that over 45 million Americans are without health insurance. An estimated 25 million are under-insured. Millions with plans have high deductibles or co-pays. There are millions of undocumented in the US that cannot apply for insurance. This free prescription resource can help all of the above! A person using the CAP Rx savings card can save on average : 15% on Brand Name Drugs 55% on Generic Drugs Savings range from 10% to 85% off. What are the benefits of the Community Assistance Program ( CAP ) Rx savings card? The CAP Rx savings card can be used over and over again & does not expire. Can be used by an entire household. 7 Where can I use the CAP Rx savings card? The CAP card is accepted at over 80% of pharmacies in the US, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands Our Large network of chain pharmacies include but are not limited to: Walgreens, Rite-Aid, Wal-Mart, Target, Kroger, K-Mart, Longs Drugs, Safeway, Tops, Sav-On, Osco, Ongs, Albertsons, Sams, Winn-Dixie, Costco, Brooks, Stop & Shop, Medicine Shoppe, Duane- Reade, Heb, Meijer, Hy-Vee, Giant, CVS, Raley's, Shopko, Bi-Lo, Smiths, Pathmark, Fred Meyer, Aurora, Pamida, Fry's, Kings, ShopRite, Hannaford, and Weiss Many local independent pharmacies also accept the card. To find a pharmacy in your area go to click on Pharmacy Lookupwww.communitylifelines.com
Who needs a card? Anyone with limited or no prescription drug coverage People who already have insurance coverage may still find the card useful as it can discount medications that are not covered by their health plan. The prescription drug savings card can also be especially useful to seniors enrolled in Medicare; it has been estimated that over 38% of Medicare recipients lack prescription drug coverage.
Are there any forms or pre-qualification for someone to use the CAP Rx savings card? Absolutely None The CAP Rx savings card is a bearer card meaning anyone presenting the card at a participating pharmacy can receive a savings. There is absolutely no gathering of any personal information at time of use.
How do they work? The Prescription Drug Savings cards contain special computerized instructions which are input by the pharmacist. When the card information is entered, the price on the prescription is discounted based on the pharmacy's agreement with our program. This type of cutting-edge technology allows consumers to save money without encountering any difficulties at the checkout line. THIS IS NOT INSURANCE!
How will someone using a CAP Rx savings card know if theyre getting a discount? With CAP, an Rx savings card user can go to and see what the price of their drug is at their local pharmacy. (see slide #6 of this presentation) The Rx savings card user can ask the pharmacist at the time of purchase how much of a discount they received using the card.
What prescription drugs are eligible for a discount when using the CAP Rx savings card? All FDA approved prescription drugs are eligible for a discount with the Community Assistance Program ( CAP ) Rx savings card. Lifestyle Drugs such as EDF (erectile dysfunction), hair loss, fertility, smoking cessation, and weight loss meds Durable Medical Equipment – such as diabetic supplies can be obtained at greatly reduced rates.
Will the person get a discount every time the CAP Rx savings card is used? A person using the card will get a discount approximately 94% of the time. The reason it is not 100% of the time is that pharmacies from time to time price certain drugs at cost to attract customers to their stores. In this type of situation the cardholder would get the lowest price without needing the discount card.
Some ways a CAP Rx savings card can be used with insurance. Limited Formularies – Insurance companies are increasingly limiting which drugs they will pay for. For example: Birth Control - Diabetic Supplies - Smoking cessation and other lifestyle drugs such as obesity, erectile dysfunction, hair loss, fertility drugs, etc. that they decide are not cost effective for them. High deductible plans – The CAP Rx savings card allows people to get discounts on Rx Drugs before they reach the level at which the insurance company starts paying benefits. Medicare Part D – The CAP Rx savings card can be used to secure discounts on those drugs that are excluded from Medicare Part D. It will also provide discounts when a person on Medicare reaches the donut hole coverage gap. The Discount Card does not provide an additional savings if you have already used your insurance card. The two cannot be combined or used together. The program works even if a CAP Rx card user has insurance.
