a person who practices veterinary medicine or surgery for animals.
Veterinarians or doctors of veterinary medicine diagnose, and treat diseases and injuries of pets, and farm animals, such as cattle or sheep: The veterinarian examines the animal to determine nature of disease or injury and treats the animal surgically or medically.
Do your work with enthusiasm and dedication. If you can't get a job working with animals, offer your services as a volunteer. Contact local veterinarians, express your interest in becoming a veterinarian, and ask if you can shadow them for a day as they perform their duties. Veterinarian training is a long process, but it can lead to a rewarding career in veterinary medicine.
