1 A BOTTLE FOR A PLANT PROJECT

2 In the second term of the school year 2011/2012 we started with a preventive program A bottle for a Plant, aimed at landscaping the school area, buying plants for the school and the care about the same USERS : all students of elementary school Banija ( classes 1 to 8 ) together with their teachers and all the technical staff.

3 MAIN GOAL : The area in which a student resides should install confidence and safety in order to develop their competence and resistance to a risk factors.

4 THE STEPS OF OUR PROJECT GROWTH our superintendent made a pencil bin at the school entrance so that students, parents, teachers and others who visit the school could dispose their plastic bottles In this way we reduce the litter that we had previously found more frequently in the corridors and around the school.

5 collected bottles are sold by students in higher grades to raise money. we use that money to buy potted plants, soil, pots and all that is necessary for that purpose.

6 each class was given a single potted plant that had their name pointed out on a label and the class was supposed to take care of it.

7 besides bying plants, the program aims at raising awernes of the importance of plants in our environment and the importance of our care of them. each class, in agreement with their class teacher, made a poster to inform other students in the school of their plant.

8 the main pedagogical objective is to create an environment of tolerance and nonviolence, the respect of other people`s work and effort in taking care of the area in wich students reside the project fosters an atmosphere of togetherness in a way that everyone involved in the process acquires a sense of community through involment in the process of growth, development and commitment to eventualy creating the school as a safe place where there is less violence, destruction, and more respect, understanding, tolerance and trust

9 THE PROJECT SUMMARY by the end of school year 2010/2011 we collected more than 1,000 kunas. the children show great interest in the program we continued with the activities in the school year 2011/2012 we have replanted already grown plants and bought new ones each class ( from 5 to 8 ) has received a plant
