2 The Approach of Turkish Workforce to Ethics 2 Objective The objective of the survey is to find out the approach of Turkish workforce to ethics and corruption in general and to business ethics.

3 The Approach of Turkish Workforce to Ethics 3 Methodology The study is designed in two stages; Exploratory stage: Interviews with the advisory board consisting of 9 opinion leaders in Turkey. The advisory board members are; Oğuz Babüroğlu, Mustafa Koç, Bülent Eczacıbaşı, Tosun Terzioğlu, Faruk Yöneyman, Kemal Köprülü, Metin Çakmakçı, Ahter Kutadgu, and Güven Alpay Quantitative stage: Face to face interviews with Turkish workforce

4 The Approach of Turkish Workforce to Ethics 4 Fieldwork The study is carried out among people representing Turkish full time workforce aged 18 and over, living in urban and semi-rural areas of twelve provinces - İstanbul, Bursa, Ankara, Konya, İzmir, Denizli, Samsun, Trabzon, Adana, Antalya, Erzurum and Diyarbakır. The fieldwork is carried between 1-14 June 2002. 1033 respondents are interviewed in total.

6 The Approach of Turkish Workforce to Ethics 6 Data Weighting The data gathered from 1033 respondents was weighted according to DİE (Prime Ministry State Institute of Statistics (SIS)) statistics to reach the most accurate results before making any analysis. The data weigthed according to sex, age group, settlement area, and economic status data of DİE (Prime Ministry State Institute of Statistics (SIS)) belonging to the year 2000. The differences due to weighting is within 5% error margin.
