The indicator proposed part of the 2015 LFS AHM
Due to re-scheduling for 2019, a placeholder from the 2010 AHM is the current proposal

Indicator "Employees by flexibility of their working schedule and educational attainment level" (lfso_10fvaredu)
From the 2010 EU LFS AHM on the Reconciliation of work and family life
Recoded high (Determines own work schedule) –medium (some degree of flexibility, including other)-low (Fixed start and end of a working day or varying working time as decided by the employer)

Some caveats
Assessed by the LFS team as a complicated variable
Problems with coding correctly the shift workers in some of the countries (this is not flexibility!)
The difference between the types of flexible arrangements not always evident
Recoding all flexible options together will reduce the impact of the latter problem

Plans for the future
Will be collected again in the 2019 LFS AHM on Working Time Arrangements
Proposed to be included in the core LFS (annual data collection), asked to all in employment
Both in the 2019 module and the core survey will be formulated in a similar manner as in this proposal (No, some& complete flexibility)
