1 Welcome to Naviance Course Entry! March 21st-28th

2 Selecting Your Courses in To Log onto Naviance, go to Bulletin Board Naviance Link for Incoming 10 th -12 th Graders

3 Enter S+ Student ID # as your username and First letter of last name +6 Digit Birthdate+ lowercase s as your password

4 Example Students ID # is 12345, last name starts with an R, and his birthdate is June 1, Username: S12345 Password: R060197s

5 Computer Science Survey Link Please complete the 2 question Computer Science survey. The following slides will show you how to do this.

6 Click on the About Me tab

7 Click on Computer Science Survey

8 Next, go to the Courses tab

9 Click on: Manage My Course Plans

10 Click on: Add a new plan * EVERYONE MUST DO THIS, EVEN IF YOU ALREADY HAVE A PLAN.

11 You want to Start a brand new plan from scratch. Then click on Create new draft plan.

12 There are several options, but students MUST select Course Contract. Click choose this one.

13 Choose your grade for NEXT year. For example, if you are a 9 th grader this year, look at and edit ONLY Grade 10.

14 Do not worry about the accuracy of anything EXCEPT next years classes.

15 To edit courses, click first on the English tab.

16 Select your course for next year.

17 Youll see this prompt. Check that it indicates your grade level for next year. Click Okay!

18 If youve chosen English II PreAP and would like to change it to academic English II, simply click on remove from plan.

19 Then select English II from the list below.

20 Click on Add selected courses to your draft plan.

21 Click Okay!

22 Youve now added your English course for next year. Move on to the Math tab.

23 Select the Math course you will take next year. Then move to the Social Studies tab.

24 Continue until you have selected 8 credits for next year, UNLESS you are a junior or senior. Juniors and seniors are allowed 2 off- periods. If you are a junior or senior who wants off-periods, select off periods under OFF PERIODS.

25 Once you feel that your classes for next year are accurate, click 3. review & finalize at the top of the page.

26 Click on VIEW BY GRADE LEVEL

27 The classes for next year should total 8 credits.

28 THE FINAL STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT!! ONCE NEXT YEARS CLASSES ARE ACCURATE, CLICK ON THE STAR MAKE THIS MY CURRENT PLAN.

29 Click Ok in the pop-up that says: This will make the selected plan your current plan.

30 Important Information Once you have selected at least 8 courses, including off periods, your entries are automatically saved in Naviance. This completes course entry for the school year. If you want to make a change after you have entered your courses, you will be able to log back in and make the changes. If you have any questions, please contact your counselor.

31 You will get a list of your classes sometime in May. If you would like to make changes at that point, please follow the directions in that letter. You will have until June 6 th to make any Change of mind requests Students and Parents can make changes in Naviance until March 28th
