4 Voluntary Contribution Thanks to the parents who have already paid this voluntary contribution of 250. As you know this money is used to pay day to day expenses incurred in your sons education. Could I urge those parents who have not paid, to do so as soon as possible and if you are experiencing any difficulty please contact me in confidence. When paying please use the forms provided.

5 Book Rental 20 per student in First year. Students can use books for Junior Certificate cycle. (Business, French, German) School Jacket Students who have yet to purchase Jackets can do so this evening. Compulsory for all First Year students

6 Remember……… Students have access to Assembly to study from 8.30 Lunch can be ordered from outside main office from 8.30 (on average 25 first year students order lunch) On wet days students can enter building earlier. All First year students start lunch at 12.35 (10 mins before other students). First year entrance by main entrance gate (Rossa Street). Ensure that name is on Jacket, Jumper etc.

7 Buddy System All First year students are paired with Transition Year students towards the end of September. A meeting time is allowed on Fridays for each group to meet up before lunch on Fridays 12.35 – 12.45.

8 Looking at eBooks A number 0f parents have expressed concerns in relation to weight of school books 60% of First years have a tablet device at home. We hope to trial eBooks with one first year class (for 2- 3 subjects) for 1-2 weeks in October. Students with no tablets device will be supplied with iPads for duration of class.

12 Their timetable will take a lot of getting used to. Part of this new routine will involve the organisation of the schoolbag before each day. Its a new skill that some may struggle with and a little help in the early days will ensure they have the right books, and the right homework on the right day! The Schoolbag

13 Lockers All students have lockers. Students have access to lockers in the morning, break time, lunch time and at the end of the school day. All student were given 2 keys in August.
