The high aeraulic efficiency of the units with downflow air discharge is due, for the units equipped with direct expansion circuit, to the fan which is positioned centrally, instead of in the base, with a downflow duct that partially recovers the dynamic pressure, improves the system effect, and involves lower fan energy consumption. Both the chilled-water and direct-expansion cooling coils of the units are equipped with hydrophilic aluminium fins, which eliminate any possible condensate entrainment in the airflow and avoid the lower part of the coil from getting full of water, so reducing the heat exchange and therefore the capacity delivered by the air conditioners. Thanks to its larger surface, the filter on the coil allows lower crossing speed, which results in lower pressure drop.

Add-on features and components: Additional chilled-water cooling coil integrated in the aluminium fins of the unit's direct expansion coil so to maximixe the air-flow area and the free-cooling effect. Three-way modulating valve controlled by the microprocessor on the cold water supply so to control the water supply in regards to its temperature. With an air set point dellaria a 24°C the valve opens twords the cold coil if the temperature is lower than 19°C; if above it opens the water cooled condensor. Pressostatic three-way valve installed upstream the water cooled condensors, so to guaranty a constant capacity and allow not to use of variable speed pumps. External dry cooler
Winter functionment The modulating valve is closed twords the condensor and opened twords the cold coil. The water temperature is so low to allow for the functionment of the unit in total free cooling and obtain a great energy saving.
Spring- Autum functionment The modulating valve is closed twords the condensor and open twords the cold coil, even if the water temperature is normally below 19°C but does not allow for the free cooling of all the frigorif power necessary. The water coming out of the coil is then sent to the condensor and allows for the functionemnt of the frigorific coil integrating the power obtained by the free cooling.
Summer functionment The modulating valve on the water pipe is closed twords the cold coil and open twords the water cooled condensor. The unit therefore works with the direct expansion circuit. Obviously in this situation the free cooling effect is zero.
Units with double frigorific source: two seasons: The maximum functionemnt security. The two seasonssystem for air conditioners with water cooled condensor: OKW/TS and UKW/TS series or for remote condensor OKA/TS and UKA/TS series. Add-on components and feautres: Add-on cold water coil, integrated in the wings of the evaporating coil so to allow for the maximum surfice to be used for heat exchange. Modulating valve on the coil.
The Two seasons system, both for units with water cooled condensor OKW/TS and UKU/TS, and for remote condensors OKA/TS and UKA/TS can be thougth of as: Standard functionment with chilled water or night and emergency functionment with direct expansion. Standard Functionment with direct expansion and emergency functionment by feeding tub water to the hydraulic coil.
Tecnair LB also commercialises, on the air conditioning market, the Dry Coolers and Condensors of its mother company LU-VE Contardo S.p.A. which operates since 1926 mainly in the industrial and Food industry refrigeration market.
