10 INTRODUCTION OF WEIR CUM CAUSEWAY WEIR : WEIR IS AN IMPERVIOUS BARRIER ACROSS A RIVER TO RAISE THE WATER LEVEL ON ITS UPSTREAM AND TO ARREST BACKWARD FLOW OF WATER FROM DOWN STREAM CAUSEWAY : A CAUSEWAY IS SMALL SUBMERSIBLE BRIDGE. IT IS ALSO KNOWN AS AN IRISH CAUSEWAY OR DIP TYPES OF CAUSEWAY : 1 LOW LEVEL CAUSEWAY (LLC) - Without Opening 2 HIGH LEVEL CAUSEWAY (HLC) - With Opening
