What do you mean by window shopping? Polo Ralph Lauren in NYC Testing virtual window shopping, inspired by the movie Minority Report. The store windows incorporate touch- screen panels to allow window shoppers to actually purchase clothing all hours of the day/night.
How it works Customers are able to browse through the Polo Ralph Lauren collection, from outside of the store. Orders can be shipped to your desired destination, be picked up inside, or you can have your wish list sent to your personal . Customer simply swipes card.
Why the alternative? Allows customers to purchase items after hours or on impulse. Helps establish a niche in the click-and- mortar market. Provides a new and unique shopping experience for their customers.
By the numbers Internet sales in general, leapt by 23 percent over the same spring period a year earlier. Ralph Lauren debuted their state of the art technology at the 2006 U.S. Open in August.
