16 Case Studies - Oracle Their IssueOracle wanted to develop database software to power the first virtual learning environment for children and test its capability How we helped The MirandaNet international community were able to help populate the software and test it. The outcomeOracle gained: – Usability research and product improvement feedback – Product case studies – Live projects that were able to develop new teaching approaches to use this technology more effectively – Help for bids for government funding Work has been ongoing since 1999 on this area with 16 VLE developers

17 Case Studies - DfES Their IssueDfES wanted teachers to develop their own curriculum materials for teaching ICT in schools as well as lesson plans How we helped The MirandaNet international community were able to develop practical resources and lesson plans for use in schools The outcome1,000 course plans were developed by 100 Fellows and their teams and loaded and accessed through TeacherNet. These plans were evaluated by 500 teachers and are used by 1,000s of teachers in schools

18 Case Studies - Inspiration Their IssueInspiration are leaders in visual thinking and learning software with 25m users worldwide. They wanted to do research into multimodal learning to discover insights into how to improve Inspiration's products How we helpedThe MirandaNet international community were able to try out the software, and provide real life research in classrooms on how to make the most of this software. The outcomeInspirational gained: Focus group research from a series of podcast seminars Case studies and reviews written by teachers for sales literature An academic journal with the Institute of Education, London Ongoing MirandaNet e-Journals from teachers with product feedback and improvement ideas Conferences and workshops (2004-07) around the world that enable Inspiration to demo their products to influence key customer groups
