3 Beginning- Exposition
Introduces characters and setting Sets mood, tone, and atmosphere

4 Middle- Rising action & climax
Introduces main conflict Builds suspense and raises questions Is when plot develops CLIMAX Is the turning point of story Is the moment when suspense reaches its peak Results in some kind of change in main character Sometimes is the end of the story

5 End- falling action (resolution)
Occurs after climax Ties up loose ends May provide a resolution to main conflict Not always a resolution to every story Aladdin
