1 I was born in Trois-Rivières, Québec on August 13 th 1936, in a very fervent Roman catholic family. There were nuns among our family. This fact impressed me and created within me aims and desires. Louise (St-Louis) Wells Testimony

2 When I was still a toddler of two and a half or three years of age, I could follow my beads, with my beloved godmother aunt Blanche. She was the means of influencing the four orphan nieces of the family, to a monastery life. That was considered, the highest spiritual vocation, for the best girls in the world. Though so young, I already wished, to become a nun also. When I was still a toddler of two and a half or three years of age, I could follow my beads, with my beloved godmother aunt Blanche. 3 The town of Trois-Rivières was in total darkness concerning Gods blessed word at that time. There was no gospel at all in the town and its vicinities. The Lord had His plan, for expressly me, I believe. He burdened the heart of the faithful Christians of Montréal, to send a free offer of the New Testament to many residents of Trois- Rivières. 4 At that time, it was regarded as a forbidden Holy Book, both to own and to read. No one else but theologians, the priests were allowed, because they were educated by the Holy Pope, to transmit us, the needed portions of that incomprehensible, complicated manuscript. They were turning the pages of the Holy Book, with their blessed index and thumb together. At that time, it was regarded as a forbidden Holy Book, both to own and to read. 5 My Dad said to my Mom, if the priests dontt want us to read that book, there must be something in it, that they dont want us to find out about. Ill order it... and find out! My Mom, being afraid of its content, said Be careful Gérard! You might be caught in some trap you cant get out of. 6 He ordered it due to the pamphlet The Two Brothers that was included with the New Testament offer. That made my Dad think, it had something in common with him and his youngest orphan kind brother, François - a fervent catholic who had been brought up in a orphenage. 7 François sheltered under our family roof, even if we already were six children consisting of five sons and a daughter, myself.

8 The day came, when the New Testament was received. Even if my Mom suspected that it was the forbidden mysterious parcel, she, with respect and honour didnt open it. Mysterious enough it was, because, from then on, my father would rush home from work, washed himself, then ate his supper, then disappeared into his locked bedroom and read without telling what he was reading. 14 That first visit really pricked me to the heart, especially the three recommendations. But the restriction of reading this book, still locked in the locked bedroom, persisted. And yet those three hints had really stuck to my spirit and heart, being so young, ten years old. That first visit really pricked me to the heart, especially the three recommendations. 15 So, Mr. Paul Boëda that French man, faithfully continued to visit my parents patiently, bringing visitors, these strangers were other Christians. 16 She was saved following an explanation of salvation by Mr. Noah Gratton. He illustrated it by describing a huge debt of sin paid when Christ died on the cross. Now a receipt was offered signed with Christs precious own blood to Antoinette St-Louis, my Mom.

17 She explained it to my Dad who laid on salvation also a few hours afterwards. What a transformation! What a great assurance of everlasting life! Praise God for His wonderful plan to us human beings! She explained it to my Dad who laid on salvation also a few hours afterwards. What a transformation! What a great assurance of everlasting life! 18 Then and only then, my father called everyone of us children. He would do so occasionally to give us warnings, restrictions or some thing specifically important. We ran, as usual, to hear what was this so serious call to Fernand, Louise, André, Clément, Émile, Roger! Then and only then, my father called everyone of us children. 19 What had our authoritative Dad to tell us? This time he said, You see this book? That was the first time we saw it. He continued, Im putting it here, in the restricted book case. 20 The other book case, we called it the restricted one because we had to ask permission to take a book and then let our parent know we had put it back in its place. Precious books were there, special ones too! What a privilege, when our Dad added, Whenever you want to read in THIS BOOK (the New Testament) you may at any time without asking permission. 21 Right then Fernand my eldest brother and I took that specific book that had been so mysterious. We both ran up stairs we lay both flat on our tummies, in my double bunk bed. So, Fernand and I started reading the New Testament observing the three recommendations. Right then Fernand my eldest brother and I took that specific book that had been so mysterious. 22 Respect, because it was Gods word Pray to understand and obey Putting our names instead of the pronouns and collective nouns.

23 We took turns in reading, sometimes wed say, Oh!... read it again! or How nice! We appreciated that all the facts were written not partly, like we had in the catechism or in the Holy Story book. 24 I was in grade five at the girls Catholic school. We were practicing with grade six to do our solemn communion when we would have reached grade six the next year. I remember standing up stiff, with my right hand rigidly forward up in the air and promising to believe in the Roman Catholic dogmas and be a Catholic believer forever, as it was the only true religion that through which we obtained salvation. 25 We children, when we had visitors, were allowed to sit quietly not moving too much, no talking together but listening to the adults conversation. One blessed evening Mr Gratton came to visit my parents, accompanied as usual by someone else. Never would the visitors address us children. 26 André answered, Yes, I do! Mr. Gratton added, Does he pay you doing so? The reply was No! André answered, Yes, I do! Mr. Gratton added, Does he pay you doing so? The reply was No! 27 Mr. Gratton read Romans 6:23 saying Thats what the Lord did for you. When we were bad and naughty, He gave His beloved Son Jesus, so that you could be with the Lord in His beautiful heaven forever and ever. When that explanation was heard by a young heart in which the Holy Spirit was working, I exclaimed, Oh! I understand, Im saved through Christ, means of this verse, Romans 6:23; I knew that I would die because I was a sinner, that I could not ever be able to do anything whatever to be righteous or justified in Gods sight. 30 I brought back home from school, my pile of images of saints that I had on the left corner of the school desk. I used to pray the image with the saint of the day such as Ste. Cécile the pianist, St. Christophe who helped us to find our lost articles, St. Antoine who did something else, etc. I brought back home from school, my pile of images of saints that I had on the left corner of the school desk. 31 She said, How come you have a forbidden book in hand as a little girl of 10 years old? She said, How come you have a forbidden book in hand as a little girl of 10 years old? Then I brought a New Testament to replace the many images who were our mediators between God and us. That became the preparation of the Holy Spirit for me to testify to the nun teacher who inquired and showed interest.

32 That ended by me giving her a precious New Testament as a gift and a huge St. Augustine book to use as a camouflage as school ended so as to hide her New Testament before the other nuns. God alone knows that turned out of this event. I prayed a lot for her. Later on, I called at the monastery to find out if she was still there and after asking who I was, they answered me, she was not in good shape to receive me. 34 I memorized many chapters by heart and recited them together Fernand and I as we were walking to school. We used the learned verses in many of our conversations, finding many events and occasions to bring in an appropriate verse. We prayed earnestly as never before, for acquaintances, salvation and to have a spotless testimony for our Lord. My goals and aims were summed up in Psalm 15; 1 Thess. 4; 1 Peter 3; Isaiah 3; James 4 and many others.
