too. He died in Paris in 1900.

Oswald saw his friend Lord Murchison in a restaurant. They hadn’t met for ten years. Murchison was strange and Oswald thought that it was because of a woman.

Oswald and Murchison went to a calm place to talk. By the way, they saw a yellow carriage and Murchison didn’t like this colour…

Murchison showed Oswald a photograph of a mysterious woman and he asked about her. Murchison told a story.

One day, Murchison saw a yellow carriage where there was a very pretty woman. He was looking for the woman for some days. Finally, Lord Murchison was invited to a party where he saw Lady Alroy and he fell in love with her.

When Murchison went to visit her, the servant said that she wasn’t at home. Alroy answered Murchison’s letter and she accepted to meet another day

Murchison surprised her while she was going into a ballroom. Her headscarf fell down and Murchison picked it up.

Murchison went to talk to her but she lied to him. He got angry, insulted her and he left.

Later, he received a letter from Alroy and gave it back without opening it. He went abroad that night When he came back, Alroy had died.

He decided to investigate why she was so mysterious. He discovered that Lady Alroy liked to be the main character on the mysterious books that she read.
