6 THE NEED FOR LEAP (GPRS I AND II) EMBEDED IN THE NSPS CONDITIONAL AND UNCONDITIONAL HOUSEHOLD CASH TRANSFER TARGETS OVC, ELDERLY AND PWDs RANGE OF GH8-15/MONTH PAID BI-MONTHLY 45,106 HOUSEHOLDS IN 83/170 DISTRICTS LINKAGE TO OTHER PRO-POOR INTERVENTIONS

11 COMMUNITY BASED VOLUNTARY ASSOCIATIONS 650 COMMUNITIES IN NORTHERN GHANA ORGANIZED AND SUPERVISED BY DSW&CD ANTI-TRAFFICKING, EARLY MARRIAGES, FGM,MIGRATION OTHER CHILD PROTECTION ISSUES

12 THE NPA IS 3 YEAR PLAN CATALYST FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF RIGHTS PREVENTION GOAL: OVCs ARE SUPPORTED TO LIVE WITH THEIR FAMILIES THROUGH SOCIAL PROTECTION INTERVENTIONS, IMPROVEMENTS IN HEALTH AND ECCD SERVICES PROTECTIVE: TO PROTECT CHILDREN WHO HAVE FALLEN THROUGH AND HELP THEM RETURN TO FAMILY BASED CARE TRANSFORMATIVE: INPROVING THE CAPACITY OF STATE AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS TO PROMOTE THE RIGHTS AND WELLBEING OF CHILDREN

13 THE MAIN CHALLENGE FOR LEAP IS INSTITUTIONAL CAPACITY FOR THE CRI: - CHANGING HEARTS AND MINDS(PHILANTHROPY,SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES, RELIGION, donors) - FOSTER CARE AND TRADITION -COMMUNITY CARE IS DIFFICULT -DESIGNING RULES ®ULATIONS, MANAGING THE DATABASE, INTRODUCING NEW LEGISLATION
