Learning Gain: All learners will explore the contributions of the United States of America on and off the battlefield in World War II. Today we will: Explain the cause and consequences of American involvement in WW2 Discuss changing American attitudes towards WW2. Examine the changes to the American society during wartime.

USA’s Role Main Task Write down anything in GREEN. The United States fought in many key battles and helped to end war in Europe as well as the Pacific. Some key battles that the United States were involved in: D-Day on the beaches of Normandy, France Battle of Iwo Jima in Japan The United States did not become directly involved in the war until 1941; people did not think USA needed to take part The United States economy benefitted from contributing supplies and weapons to the fighting countries at the start of war. When Japan attacked an American naval base, the US President had no choice but to declare war on Japan.
