The United States fought in many key battles and helped to end war in Europe as well as the Pacific.
Some key battles that the United States were involved in:
D-Day on the beaches of Normandy, France
Battle of Iwo Jima in Japan
The United States did not become directly involved in the war until 1941; people did not think USA needed to take part
The United States economy benefitted from contributing supplies and weapons to the fighting countries at the start of war.
When Japan attacked an American naval base, the US President had no choice but to declare war on Japan.
