4 Adjectives can also show how people, places, or things are alike or different. Add –er to most adjectives to compare two persons, places, or things. Mars is a smaller planet than Jupiter. Add –est to most adjectives to compare more than two persons, places, or things. Pluto is the smallest planet of all.
