Supplementary Figure S2: Quantitative assessment of stromal markers, including α-SMA, Col III, Col IV, and HA, in primary tumors and a small cohort of metastatic lesions (n=20). Here, the percent area of positive staining was plotted for each stromal marker, and grouped into primary tumor and metastases for comparison. Statistically significant differences in the percent areas staining positive were observed in primaries and metastatic lesions detected for HA (78.2 vs. 69.5, P<0.01), Col IV (42.4 vs. 33.9, P<0.05), and α-SMA (42.9 vs. 49.8, P<0.05). Statistically significant differences were not observed for Col III staining in primary tumors and metastatic lesions (64.5 vs. 58.9, n.s.).
