Department of Chemical Engineering NCKU
The Department of Chemical Engineering was established in 1931 as the Department of Applied Chemistry. The Department has offered the Bachelor of Science, Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees. Current enrollment as Academic Year 2005–2006: 530 Undergraduates 203 MS students 101 PhD students The Department has 36 full-time faculty members and 13 adjunct members. Brief History of the Department
The overall goal of our educational programs is to challenge our students to maximize their potential, motivation and competence in their careers throughout their lives. In particular, we aim to inspire our students to Obtain the necessary and fundamental knowledge as well as technical capability in the practice of chemical engineering; Objectives for Undergraduate Program
Develop effective communication skills, both oral and written, and exercise their competence, creativity, and imagination in researches and resolving problems arising from applications to real-world engineering problems; Develop the necessary attributes for constructive participation in and leadership of interdisciplinary teams and for knowledge integration; Understand and appreciate the ethical responsibilities entailed in the professions and engineering practice, and envisage the global development and views. Objectives for Undergraduate Program
