1 Glioblastoma Multiforme SSEA1+ CD133+
Lung Cancer Sca+CD45-Pecam-CD34+ Breast Cancer CD44+CD24-ESA+ CD44+CD24low/- CD34+CD38- Acute Myeloid Leukaemia Acute Lymphoid Leukaemia CD34+CD19- CD133+CD44+ Gastric Cancer CD133+ESAhighCD44+ CD166+ CD26+ Colorectal Cancer Liver Cancer CD90+ Pancreatic Cancer CD44+CD24+ESA+ CD44+ Prostate Cancer Bladder Cancer Title: “Characteristic pattern”  I would avoid to say this since there is no so much a characteristic pattern of markers, as different combinations of markers that are currently in use to identify CSCs  Bold: I have added some more markers from more papers Underlined: I have added more types of cancers Breast cancer: I also found CD44+/CD24low/Lin-/CD133+ (Al Hajj et al, PNAS 2003) Head and Neck: CD44+ or CD44+/CD24+ (Prince M et al., PNAS 2007) Melanoma: CD133+/CD166+ (Quintana et al., Nature 2008). Colorectal cancer: ESAhigh/CD44+/CD166+ or ESAhigh/CD44+ or ESAhigh/CD166+ or CD44+/CD166+ (Dalerba P et al, PNAS 2007). CD133+ alone (Ricci-Vitiani L et al., Nature 2007) Lgr5+ (Barker et al., Nature 2007) Ovarian cancer: CD133+ (Silva 2011) Prostate cancer: CD44+/a2b1high/CD133+ (Collins et al., 2005) Pancreatic cancer: CD44+ alone (Li C et al., Cancer Res 2007) Bone sarcoma: Stro-1+/CD44+/CD105 (Gibbs et al., 2005) AML: also: CD34+/CD38+/CD90-/CD71-/HLA-/DR-/CD117- in different combinations (Blair and Sutherland 2000)(Blair et al, 1997, 1998, Jordan et al, 2000). NSCLC (can be part of lung cancer): CD133+/CD44+/epcam+/CD166+ (Zhang et al, 2012) CD166(+)/CD44(+) or CD166(+)/EpCAM(+) (Zakaria et al, BMC cancer 2015) Lung cancer: also: CD44+/CD90+ (Wang et al., Plos one 2013), CD133+CD44+ (Zhang et al, Mol Cell Biol 2010) Brain tumors: Can include Glioma, Glioblastoma multiforme, Medulloblastoma  also I found: CD133+/a6 integrin Suggestion: It would be easier for the reader if we would put the reference number next to each one of those combinations of markers , in order to be able to associate what they read with the correspondent paper
