Fatty liver. In some cases, the fatty change seen in alcoholics will involve the entire liver (i.e., diffuse fatty liver). Fatty liver can also occur with other processes producing hepatic steatosis, such as diabetes mellitus and obesity, and is referred to as nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. Source: Chapter 15.
