This week we are doing a lot of “Get to know you” activities to ensure we create our classroom community!
We are starting DRA testing on Wednesday the 27th.
If you would like to celebrate your child’s August birthday (including past ones) please me or leave a note. We will celebrate other summer birthdays at the end of the year.
August 25th- FIRST DAY OF 5TH GRADE!
September 1st – No School – Labor Day
September 2nd – Joplin High School welcomes home the Eagles!

We are introducing our 40 Book Challenge this week. The 40 books will be read through the course of the year. We want a classroom full of kids who love to read, and that see the importance of reading! Please encourage your child to read a little each night. I do not have a requirement on how long or when they need to read, as long as they meet their challenge by May.
