1 Figure Legend: From: The modern Japanese color lexicon
Journal of Vision. 2017;17(3):1. doi: /17.3.1 Figure Legend: Histograms of the outcomes of analyses of 10,000 random samples of 57 Japanese subjects containing exactly 10 subjects. Solid histograms: the fraction of outcomes in which a sample that was called x by at least one of the 10 subjects was also called y by at least one other subject. Light blue: x = mizu, y = ao. Red: x = aka, y = pink. Green: x = midori, y = ao. Continuous-line histogram: x = (mizu or sora), y = ao. Arrows and open circles: histogram medians. Solid circles and horizontal bars: fractions and 95% confidence intervals for the indicated color combinations from Uchikawa and Boynton (1987). Dotted lines join medians from the present study to the corresponding data from that study.
