2 Germans and Austrians usually decorate their table tops with an Advent Wreath. The four candles represent the four Sundays of December.
3 O Christmas Tree, O Tannenbaum The tradition of the Christmas tree began in Germany. Germans use to bring in branches of the tree during the winter,because they remained green in the winter.
4 In southern Germany and Austria, Saint Nicklaus comes on December 6th to put presents and candy in the shoes of good little girls and boys. Many cities have parades for him--- but Saint Nicklaus does not come alone!
5 Krampus or Knecht Ruprecht is a mean guy who comes with Krampus to punish the naughty children! Hes pretty scary looking!
