1 BSHS Men’s Soccer 2016-2017 Who We Are: Tryout Information:
Head Coach: Manes Preptit This is Coach Manes’ fourth year as Bryan Station’s head coach. After playing for Asbury University, Coach Manes coached for CSC, LCA, and currently coaches a Georgetown Futbol Club girls team in addition to Bryan Station Varsity. Coach Manes teaches special education at Bourbon Central Elementary. BSHS Men’s Soccer *Every player must have an active physical before trying out for the team and practicing. This physical must be up to date (within the past calendar year). If you don’t have a physical on file, you can get one through your doctor or at a Kroger Clinic. **Team fee includes rental of jersey, individual soccer ball, transportation costs, etc. Throughout the season, players will have opportunities to fundraise. Fee required of active players before the first game of the season. 2 How can I stay up to date and informed?
Expectations: What can I expect as a player? As a player, you will be held to a high standard of excellence on and off the field. You are expected to attend practices and games, injured or healthy. Bryan Station Men’s Soccer is committed to growing as athletes and human beings while maintaining integrity and striving for greatness. Mark Your Calendars: August Games Aug. 16th, Frankfort, HOME, 6:15 JV, 7:30 V Aug. 19th-20th, Lexington Soccer Spectacular Aug. 25th, LCA, HOME, 6:15 JV, 7:30 V Aug. 30th, Dunbar, AWAY, 6:15 JV, 8:00 V What can I expect as a parent? As a parent, know that we will take care of your son, but at the same time, will put the players on the field that give us the best chance of winning. Summer Camp: This year, the team is participating in the Louisville Soccer High School Team Camp. Although participation is not mandatory, the coaches appreciate the sacrifice and commitment demonstrated by fundraising and attending the camp. The more players we have at the camp, the better prepared we will be to start the season. When will I make the team? Sign up for the following: You will know if you made the team after tryouts on July 22nd. Following afternoon practice, we will have a team and parent meeting to discuss and sign the team contract.
