3 Group Responsibilities
Each group will be responsible for becoming an expert on their section. Each group will be expected to present to the class the content of their section. Roles Leader & Assistants Recorder Artist Reporter (s)

4 Character Identify each of the major characters in the story
List the traits (physical or personality) of each character. Choose one character to do a detailed analysis of. Draw a picture of him or her based on the description in the story. Write a ½ page paragraph about this character where you go into depth on this characters traits and motives, why does he/she do what he/she does. Refer to your character actions/motivations worksheet.

5 Setting Identify the setting of the story
Is there more than one setting in the story? Describe the setting with as much detail as you can. Look in the story to find all of the detail that you can find Provide quotes from the text Draw the setting ½ page paragraph explaining how the changing setting affects the mood of the story.

6 Theme List as many themes as you can that the story addresses.
How does the story address each theme? What events in the story present the message. Choose one theme that you think is the most important message of the story Draw the scene that best shows that theme Explain (1/2 page) how the theme is developed over the course of the plot.

7 Plot Detail the events of the story from your section using a flow map. Identify each box as being part of the exposition, rising action, climax, or falling action of the story. On a blank sheet of paper, draw the most important scene of your section. Write a summary of your section.
