Offset microRNAs (isomoRs). These are generated during microRNA biogenesis and define the ends of the mature microRNAs. We observed 5′ isomoRs in both the retina (e.g., miR-96-5p; top panel) and in the RPE/choroid (e.g., miR-211-5p; bottom panel). Both microRNAs exhibited 3′ isomiRs, including nontemplated additions.
