The Water Cycle TILAK COLLEGE OF EDUCATION PUNE – 30

Water For survival of living organisms and human being water is need. No life without the Water. Water never leaves the Earth. It is constantly being cycled through the atmosphere, ocean, and land. This process, known as the water cycle,

What is Transpiration?

the evaporation of water from plants
“Transpiration” the evaporation of water from plants

The process of evaporation from plants is called transpiration
The process of evaporation from plants is called transpiration. (In other words, it’s like plants sweating. Plants lose water out of the leaves.) Transpiration gives evaporation a bit of a hand in getting the water vapour back into the air.

The Water Cycle What is Evaporation?

Evaporation is when the sun heats up water in rivers or lakes or the ocean and turns it into vapour or steam. The water vapour or steam leaves the river, lake or ocean and goes into the atmosphere.

What is condensation?

As water (in the form of gas) rises higher in the atmosphere, it starts to cool and become a liquid again. This process is called condensation. When a large amount of water vapor condenses, it results in the formation of clouds.

What is Precipitation?

When the water in the clouds gets too heavy, the water falls back to the earth. This is called precipitation.

Where is rain water goes? Or Runoff?

When rain falls on the land, some of the water is absorbed into the ground forming pockets of water called groundwater. Most groundwater eventually returns to the ocean. Other precipitation runs directly into streams or rivers. Water that collects in rivers, streams, and oceans is called runoff.

Water Cycle The water cycle is the continuous recycling of water on earth; from the oceans, up to the sky and down to land, to be transported back to the oceans and sky again. Water is constantly moving due to the energy of the sun transforming surface water into water vapor. The water vapor eventually forms clouds, and clouds condense back into water droplets. When the droplets become so dense in the clouds, the force of gravity pulls them back down to the earth where the cycle continues all over again.

Give the answer __________ = what are the three form of water? _____________________ process of changing vapour to liquid? __________________ The evaporation of water from plants? Liquid, vapour.solid condensation Transpiration
