2 New Yorkers have the longest commute times in U.S.
Set the scene – identify the problem. The problem is that 80% of Long Islanders drive to work alone which contributes to (next slide): increased congestion, high commuting costs, poor air quality.

3 32% of New Yorkers drive alone to work,
adding to already congested roads Almost 40% of on-road vehicle emissions come from passenger cars Set the scene – identify the problem. The problem is that 32% of NYers drive to work alone which contributes to (next slide): increased congestion, high commuting costs, poor air quality. The number might seem low but when you take the taxi cabs and delivery drivers into account, it adds up very fast. For example: Yellow taxis (alone, not including black cabs or ubers) drive 600,000 passengers each day. 32% source - Air quality source - New York City received a “D” for Ozone air quality, according to the American Lung Association’s 2015 State of the Air report

6 Reduces Congestion, Lowers Emissions, Improves Air Quality
Ridesharing is a sort of catch-all term for carpooling/vanpooling and taking public transit because you essentially are all sharing rides on the bus and train. By increasing occupancy in each vehicle, we are able to reduce congestion, lower emissions and clean the air. We make it easy for companies to get their employees to rideshare. RIDESHARING Reduces Congestion, Lowers Emissions, Improves Air Quality

7 RIDESHARING = Financial Savings
What kind of impact does this have on YOUR business? Ridesharing can yield financial savings for employers AND employees. When employees carpool, they saving on gas/maintenance costs. When employees take transit, they are eligible for commuter benefits and when employers offer commuter benefits to their employees, they are able to cut down on payroll related taxes. We all know traffic can make any sane person crazy. When congestion goes down, so do stress levels. You’ll have healthier employees (we know how expensive sick employees can cost companies) and they’ll be more likely to be on time, and can possibly even get more work done during their commutes! Lastly, when you make your office/worksite more accessible through providing commuter benefits or through increased carpool opportunities, you become an attractive workplace for employees which increases your recruiting and employee retention rates. REDUCED CONGESTION = Healthy and Productive Employees IMPROVED ACCESS = Employee Recruitment & Retention
