The size requirements for posters are as follows: Size A1 vertical: 841 x 594 mm (height x width) or 33.1 x 23.4 inches (height x width) Please consult the following formatting template below when preparing your poster.

2 Weather-Based Irrigation Control in the Cloud
Michael Davidson Davidson Consultants Introduction Evidence indicates that Weather-Based Irrigation Controllers (WBICs) are effective tools for optimizing irrigation water consumption. WBICs are promoted by the United States Environmental Protection Agency as a tool for water conservation for commercial and residential settings. This research infers that these controllers can be used as cost-effective tools for optimizing water delivery systems for agricultural in the Least Developed countries. This unit also has the capacity to store and use climate data, programming data, flow management data and all performance histories. This case study illustrates the efficacy of WBICs as proposed for use in the Camrosa Irrigation District in California in the United States and suggests that similar outcomes and measures of water-use efficiency can be replicated. The WBIC under study is the Weathermatic Smartline® controller which is a stand-alone or cloud-based system appropriate for all scales. The Smartline® unit is also capable of being powered as a 12vDC unit by solar batteries. Results Conclusions The El Segundo facility reported an overall reduction in irrigation water consumption of 37% when compared with the previous ten-year average. One park at the facility reported an increase of 7% water use but it was late determined that in the previous two years the controller at that park was turned off for the three months of the winter. The controller successfully turned off valves when high flow conditions were detected but it was not possible to determine how much water was saved Acknowledgements . Literature cited .
