AvioPolska Avio Polska manufacturing plant is located in Bielsko-Biała in the Silesian Region of Poland, Employees: 337 (including 78 engineers in the engineering centre), Annual turnover: 45 M Euro, Investments: 25 M Euro up to now, Production Centre – blades and vanes machining (GE90 vanes and blades, CFM56 – blades, T700 – blades, PW308 – blades, GEnX 2B – vanes), Engineering centre – involvment in almost all Avio projects, Representative Office in Warsaw.
Newest project of Avio Polska Participation in design and manufacturing of the most modern aircraft engine: GEnx-2B: –application: new long range aircraft: Boeing (successor of the Jumbo); –15% lower SFC, –Ability to operate 30% longer with a 30% increase in parts life comparing to engines that Genx will replace (significant reduction of costs), –Emmisions 95% below current limits, Avio Responsibility: design, prototype research and implementation of production of the GEnX 2B LPT Stator, In 2008 Avio Polska decided to invest almost 25 M Euro in years 2008 – 2011 to increase capacity to produce stator vanes for GEnX 2B and other new blades and vanes, On 28 of August 2009, Avio Polska signed the contract with Polish Agency for Enterpreneurship Development (on behalf of Polish Ministry of Economy) to support Avio initiative by the funds in amount of 9 M Euro.
Research – CFTTF Laboratory in Warsaw Joint initiative of representants of scientific-technological consorcium with participation of Avio Polska, WZL4 S.A. and polish schools (Warsaw University of Technology, Military Technical Academy), Global most modern laboratory dedicated to research and testing of aircraft engine turbine prototypes, Investment Value: approx. 45 M Euro. Project is open for new partners from industry and science.
A leader in the industry Worldwide leader in design and manufacturing of transmissions. Global #1 as an independent player in both: mechanical and power transmission systems (turboprop and helicopter application). Worldwide leader in design and manufacturing of turbine engines Solutions for US Presidential Helicopter Re-design of GE90-115B LPT (B777) LPT for EJ200 i PW308 Key role in works on Genx for B787 European #1 in solid rocket propulsion systems P80 (main engine of Vega) – biggest in the world
Overhaul (MR&O) Avio – european leader in aircraft engine overhaul industry (PW100, T700, LM2500, AE2100), Engine overhaul centre in Warsaw: Polish Aircraft Engines Group POLONIA AERO (joint venture of Avio and WZL4 S.A.): –objective: to meet current demands in terms of modern aircraft engine maintenance (cooperation with Polish Air Force), –MRO services for Middle and Eastern European operators. FUTURE PLANS Small aircraft maintenance centre in Czechowice-Dziedzice, Small engines overhaul by WSK Kalisz within the Silesian Park of Aviation Technology,
Research – Silesian Scientific Technological Centre of Aviation Industry Project considered as a key project by polish Ministry of Regional Development, Investment value: 12 M Euro, Cooperation with: Main Mining Institute, Silesian University of Technology, University of Bielsko-Biała, R&D together with manufacturing of high-tech composite components for aviation and military industry, Production centre for small aviation companies cooperating with key players in aircraft engine industry, Creation of a service centre for small aircraft engines, Creation of a professional training and education centre,
Cooperation with Aviation Valley Almost all members of Silesian Aviation Cluster remain members of the Aviation Valley, Establishing of a second Aviation Cluster in Poland basing on gained experience, Cooperation between clusters – laboratories available for other members of the Aviation Valley,
