1 China MM-Wave (CMMW) Study Group Comments on 802.11aj PAR & 5C
April 2007 doc.: IEEE /0937r0 July 2012 China MM-Wave (CMMW) Study Group Comments on aj PAR & 5C Date: Authors: Xiaoming Peng, Eldad Perahia

2 The comments from Jerry Thrasher and Jon Rosdahl on 802.11aj PAR
July 2012 The comments from Jerry Thrasher and Jon Rosdahl on aj PAR Jerry suggested removing the references to 3 specific documents in Section 5.2 (Scope of Proposed Standard) and he further mentioned that two of these references did not seem to be readily available. Jon suggested revising it as “… also defines the modification to the PHY and MAC Layers to enable the operations for the GHz frequency band (pending approval from China MIIT of PRC) that comply with the applicable MIIT of PRC rules reference document”. Xiaoming Peng, Eldad Perahia

3 Xiaoming Peng, Eldad Perahia
July 2012 The response to comments from Jerry Thrasher and Jon Rosdahl on aj PAR Agree with Jon and Jerry’s comments The changes are as follows Moved “The GHz frequency band is pending approval from China Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of People’s Republic of China (PRC)) that comply with the applicable MIIT of PRC rules reference document (MIIT XWH , MIIT XBW , cmmw.” to Section 8.1 (Additional Explanatory Notes) with some modifications due to other comments Xiaoming Peng, Eldad Perahia

July 2012 The response to comments from Jerry Thrasher and Jon Rosdahl on aj PAR The documents are available MIIT XBW : MIIT XWH : The URL information has been added to section 8.1 in PAR Xiaoming Peng, Eldad Perahia

5 The comments from 802.19 on 802.11aj PAR
July 2012 The comments from on aj PAR From Shellhammer, Steve TITLE: Please consider changing title to “…Enhancements for Very High Throughput to support Chinese millimeter wave frequency bands.” SCOPE: Change “The amendment shall maintain the backward compatibility…” to “The amendment shall maintain backward compatibility...” PURPOSE:  Change “pending for approval” to “pending approval” GENERAL:  The PAR needs editing for grammar. Xiaoming Peng, Eldad Perahia

6 The response to comments from 802.19 on 802.11aj PAR
July 2012 The response to comments from on aj PAR Agree with the comment The TITLE has been changed to “…Enhancements for Very High Throughput to support Chinese millimeter wave frequency bands.” as per requested The SCOPE has been changed to “The amendment shall maintain backward compatibility...” as per requested The PURPOSE has been changed to “pending approval” as per requested The PAR has been edited for grammar as per requested Xiaoming Peng, Eldad Perahia

7 The comments from Png Khiam Boon on 802.11aj PAR
July 2012 The comments from Png Khiam Boon on aj PAR With regards to the PAR for aj PAR submission (DCN: IEEE /0140r5), in the title of the standards field, it is stated “....to support one or more of the Chinese GHz and GHz frequency bands”. However, throughout the rest of the document, especially in the scope of the project fields, “ GHz frequency band” is used instead of the less restrictive description of GHz. I feel that, at the very least, consistency throughout the document should be maintained and one of the two frequency ranges should be chosen. Moreover, it would be more prudent to include the less restrictive description of GHz. Xiaoming Peng, Eldad Perahia

8 The response to comment from Png Khiam Boon on 802.11aj PAR
July 2012 The response to comment from Png Khiam Boon on aj PAR In response to a comment from , the title was changed to “…Enhancements for Very High Throughput to support Chinese millimeter wave frequency bands.”. This eliminates the mismatch between the frequency band previously specified in the title and the rest of the PAR To be less restrictive, “ ” was changed to 45. Xiaoming Peng, Eldad Perahia

9 The comment from James Gilb on 802.11aj 5C
July 2012 The comment from James Gilb on aj 5C The 5C question for compatibility changed following the March meeting.
Did you use the most recent version of the OM when you prepared your 5C?
It is item 2 in the 5C, subclause Xiaoming Peng, Eldad Perahia

10 The response to comment from James Gilb on 802.11aj 5C
July 2012 The response to comment from James Gilb on aj 5C The 5C has been updated to match the latest version of the OM. Xiaoming Peng, Eldad Perahia
