What’s the BUZZ in
First Grade?
April 3, 2017
SPRING
Spring has finally arrived and we will be enjoying the warmer temperatures. More importantly, we will be celebrating the resurrection of our Savior. I am so blessed to be able to share the stories of Holy Week with the kids and what they mean to us. Easter is just as special as Christmas because without the death and resurrection of Jesus, our salvation would not be complete. Just as we see new life springing forth all around us this month, we also have new life with Jesus because of what He did for us!
Achievement Testing
Bethlehem students will be taking standardized tests this week, April 3rd – 7th. These tests are just one way the school measures your child’s performance. There is no way to study for these tests, but you can help to provide support and create a positive test-taking experience. Information was sent home with ideas to assist you in helping to make this a positive experience for your child.
What We Will be Learning This Month
We will be hearing the story of God’s love and how He demonstrated His plan of salvation as fulfilled in Jesus.
We will practice writing opinion sentences.
We will be learning about two-dimensional shapes and fractions.
We will be discovering facts about the weather and season. We will also investigate tools to measure weather.
REMINDERS
Send a filled water bottle to school each morning with your child.
Remember to fill out the weekly reading log in Bee Folder. It will be collected each Friday along with spelling homework.
Please send napkins, utensils, and paper plates in your child’s lunchbox.
