1 Same patient as in Fig The computed tomography positron emission tomography scan after four courses of hyperfractionated cyclophosphamide, vincristine, doxorubicin, and dexamethasone (hyperCVAD) alternated with high-dose methotrexate-ara-C an leucovorin rescue, reveals a dramatic improvement with no residual hypermetabolic activity. The patient went on to complete eight courses of treatment with hyperCVAD-HD methotrexate-Ara-C-leucovorin rescue. He remains in complete remission of the Burkitt lymphoma 4 years after treatment and on highly active antiretroviral therapy.
