Biotic factors (Bio=life) – the living parts of an ecosystem
Abiotic – the nonliving parts of an ecosystem

We are going to go outside for 10 minutes. Your job is to list as many biotic and abiotic factors as you can.

7. Do biotic and abiotic factors affect each other?
If there is no water…can anything grow or survive?
If it is extremely cold one winter, will that affect whether an animal makes it?

Each table will get a picture. Work together to identify at least three biotic and three abiotic factors AND explain how they interact with each other.
Extra XP if you can also identify what would happen if one (either biotic or abiotic) were removed or polluted.
