1 Key club

2 Pledge I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and God; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

3 What is key club? Mission statement
Key Club is an international student-led organization which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. Key Club International is the high school organization sponsored by Kiwanis International. This is a great club to serve your community and become involved in activities to earn volunteer hours.

4 Meetings We will meet every-other Thursday At 3pm In building 1c-205
Should not last any longer than 30 min. Unless there is a roadside clean-up.

5 Volunteer hours Before any of your volunteer hours are able to be counted, you are required by the county to take a volunteer training. If you have already done this training before, you do not need to take it again. You can sign up for this training in guidance. The first three dates for this training are: Thurs. Sept. 19 Tues. Oct. 22 Thurs. Nov. 14 P.S – there are only 50 seats available, so hurry and sign up!

6 Dues $30 Begin turning in dues ASAP!
$11 goes to the International Key Club. $11 goes to a Key Club t-shirt. $8 goes to the club to help support activities and supplies. Begin turning in dues ASAP! If you have any financial problems please speak to the advisors.

7 Rush week Begins Monday September 16th Day 1: Wear a key
Jewelry Homemade key Be creative! Day 2: Recite the Key Club Pledge to all of your teachers. Day 3: Wear a Key Club T-shirt Can be from previous memberships Can be homemade Day 4: This day will be Thursday, September 26th. Bring a Friend day!! Turn in on Thursday September 26th You will have two weeks to complete this.

8 UCF kick-off conference
This Saturday (14th) 9am-12pm UCF Communications Building This event is a great way to meet other key clubbers, learn more about key club, and become pumped for this year!

9 Roadside cleanup Our first roadside cleanup will be on Thursday, September 26th. (same day as bring a friend day) First and easiest way to earn hours! Must attend volunteer training by Sept. 19th for these hours to count. Wear comfortable shoes! We will have one roadside cleanup every quarter after our meeting. Sign up after the meeting. ****If you sign up, please show up!!****

10 Homecoming parade The theme for this year’s homecoming is Haunted Homecoming. We are in need of a trailer and possibly a truck. Please share any ideas that will make our float awesome! Our idea: Get cheap homecoming attire, tear them up and look haunted! We want to have a homecoming king and queen. Goodwill has dresses for about 5-6$

11 Cycle for life Sunday, October 6th 10am – 1pm
We will be helping pass out water and snacks for bikers at rest stops located in Deland. If you are interested please sign up after class. Do NOT sign up if you may not be able to go!

12 Future activities Spooktacular Cycle for life
Macaroni and cheese cook-off!!  Relay for life And much more!
