3. Belt of Truth The Bible is God’s Word
John 1:1-2, 14, tells us that Jesus (logos) is God that he came in the flesh full of grace and truth.
“For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken. I know that his command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say.”—John 12:49

4. Belt of Truth The Bible is God’s word.
“All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
II Timothy 3:16-17

5. Belt of Truth The Bible is God’s word.
“Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”

All the writers of the Books of the Bible telling the same message.
No part of the Bible is or has been found untrue or contradictory.
Plus historical evidence.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.—John 14:6, I Corinthians 15:22

7. Belt of Truth A belt holds everything together and gives support.
Some would define truth as your set of beliefs.
That idea would be false. It would be like a belt that is to big or to small. It doesn’t hold anything up.
Many religions try to us too big of belts or to small of a belt.

8. Breastplate of Righteousness
Righteous behavior
This will protect the Christian soldier.
No back armor is mentioned and we must stand against Satan and his schemes; not turn and run or we will be vulnerable.
God’s word is what we stand upon and determine what is right and wrong.

10. Breastplate of Righteousness
Being made right by God saves us from the accuser.—Revelation 12:10
Romans 3:21-24—We are made righteous through faith in Jesus Christ.
“My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.”—I John 2:1

11. Readiness from the gospel of peace.
Knowing the game plan.
Before we can go into battle we need to know our marching orders.
We must be ready to share the gospel of peace.
There is only one person that can bring peace between man & God.
Only Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God.

12. Readiness from the gospel of peace.
“I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
John 14:6
Jesus is the way of salvation.
Jesus is the foundation of faith and truth for the church.
Jesus is the only one who can grant eternal life.

13. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:”—II Corinthians 5:17-18

14. The Shield of Faith What is faith here? What is believed.
The shield can protect the whole body.
If we don’t keep our shield up we can be hit with the flaming arrows of Satan.

15. The Shield of Faith Some possible arrows of Satan:
The arrow of evolution which tries to erode the foundation of God being the creator.
The arrow of doubt that Jesus was God in the flesh.
The arrows of temptation.

16. The Helmet of Salvation
Salvation is the gift of God as made clear in Ephesians 2:8.
It is a symbol of victory.
Don’t let Satan take it from you.
We are saved when we make the free will mental decision to admit who Jesus is and submit to His authority.

17. The Sword of the Spirit Is the word of God.
It is our weapon of attack/offense.
No matter whether we are going up against false teachers, temptations, sin, philosophies, or trying to guide people to Christ,
It is the word of God that will win the battle for us.

18. “For the word of God is alive and active
“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”
