4 Luke 11:1-5 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."   He said to them, "When you pray, say:     " 'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.   Give us each day our daily bread.   Forgive us our sins,       for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.     And lead us not into temptation.' " Then he said to them, "Suppose one of you has a friend, and he goes to him at midnight and says, 'Friend, lend me three loaves of bread, because a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have nothing to set before him.' BACK

5 Jesus and Prayer Jesus told us that we should pray to God and he showed how to pray by giving us the Lords Prayer. Look at the Lords prayer below and note: What are the main things that Jesus talks to God about/says to God? Focus on please, thank you, sorry. What are we saying please for, thank you for and sorry for? " 'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.   Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins,   for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.    And lead us not into temptation.' "

6 Our Father (God is like a father who loves us and guides us).
Who art in heaven (God is in heaven) Hallowed be your name ( We worship you) Your Kingdom come ( I want what you want to happen on earth) Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven (I want earth to be like heaven) Give us this day our daily bread (Please give us what we need to live) Forgive us our trespasses (forgive us for what we have done wrong). As we forgive those who trespass against us (and help us to forgive others) Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil (Help us to avoid evil and to resist temptation) Amen (I think so too)
