Standardized Visual Laboratory Hemolysis Assessment. Extent of hemolysis for patient specimens was quantitated, in mg/dL hemoglobin, by use of a Beckman LX-20 specimen integrity monitor. This information was displayed with the picture above in the laboratory testing area along with a corresponding list of tests affected by these levels of hemolysis (Table 3).
